Line-up

Turn Back, the band's third studio album, was an attempt to return to the classic sextet format and it was a more consistent, more powerful effort with a harder edge. The edgier sound of Turn Back was a reflection of the growth of the band. Bobby Kimball's growing ability to play was evident in the vocals of Joseph Williams, who had become more confident and mature. David Paich's keyboard skills were as well more refined, more precise and less akin to previous recordings.
